Simple Methods to Prevent Viruses from entering your system (PC)

Psalm's Counter

Viruses, a simple scripted program used to collect/delete information(mostly), has become a great threat to humankind. With these little computer scripts roaming around on almost all PC systems, we think
that there's NO WAY to remove them at all.

Well, thats right. THere is NO WAY to wipe these little proggys from the face of the earth (or computers rather). BUT, there still are other ways to contain it.

Ok, how can we prevent these viruses from infecting our systems?

1. Number 1 rule, always install a good ANTIVIRUS program that could really delete or control the spreading of viruses. There are nu
merous good programs out there that can really remove certain infections. (i dont know about the free ones)

2. (For advanced users) Always view your hidden files. It is located at the "Folder Option". After opening the Folder options, click on the "view" tab and click "Show hidden files and folders", uncheck the "hide extensions for known file types" and "hide protected operating system files (Recommended)". The purpose of this method is for the users to simply differentiate files from normal files, because many viruses (.exe file) disguise themselves
as folders, and many more. If the user can see the difference between a normal file and a virus, then he/she can easily avoid being infected.

3. Never 'double-click' on your drives in "My Computer". Never double click on your drives such as D:, C:, or even flash drives. Most viruses infect system drives by dropping a simple script that will activate them, commonly known as "autorun.inf". This script is activated either when a flash disk is inserted in a PC, or when a user double clicks the drives on My Computer which contains the script. To access your drives, simply click on the "Folders" button on the top of your Windows Explorer which divides the Explorer into 2 divisions.

Then just simply click on the Drive you want to explore (on the left side division). This avoids scripts to execute and avoids viruses to spread...

These are just some simple methods to prevent viruses from infecting your system. I know we cant really wipe viruses permanently but i hope these methods I posted will help.
